Sam & Max’s Romantic Engagement Session | Northern Michigan Engagement Photographer
An intimate engagement session on Sam’s family property in Owosso, Michigan, featuring golden-hour light, natural beauty, and joyful moments.
Sam and Max are what I like to call dream clients. Not only are we the perfect fit, but we have so much in common—I haven’t even photographed their wedding yet (but that’s happening this summer, and I cannot wait) and I already consider Sam a friend, and I know their wedding day is going to be so special. Don’t be surprised if you catch me teary-eyed behind the camera!
We captured their engagement photos on Sam’s family property in Owosso, Michigan, a place that holds so much meaning for them. Sam grew up here, and it’s filled with beautiful memories, so it was only fitting to take their engagement photos in a location that is truly part of their love story. The setting was absolutely perfect, from the open landscape to their beautiful pond. And if you scroll to the end, you’ll see one of my favorite moments—they had a paddle boat, so of course, we had to get some fun photos of them in it!
Sam & Max, thank you so much for choosing me to be your engagement and wedding photographer. I loved every second of capturing these moments for you, and I am SO excited for your big day. It’s going to be beyond beautiful, and I feel so lucky to be a part of it!
I seriously cannot wait to celebrate with Sam and Max on their wedding day—it’s going to be so beautiful! If you're dreaming of engagement photos that feel like you—natural, fun, and filled with meaning—I’d love to capture your story too. Inquire here!
How do we choose the best location for our engagement session?
I always recommend choosing a place that feels meaningful to you! Whether it’s a spot with sentimental value—like Sam and Max’s family property—or a stunning backdrop like Traverse City, Charlevoix, or anywhere in Northern Michigan, I’ll help guide you to a location that fits your vision.
What should we wear for our engagement photos?
Wear something that makes you feel confident and comfortable! Flowy dresses, neutral tones, and classic outfits always photograph beautifully. I also recommend bringing one casual outfit and one dressier option for variety. Need help deciding? I’m happy to give outfit recommendations!
When is the best time for engagement photos?
Golden hour—about an hour before sunset—is my favorite time to shoot because of the soft, dreamy lighting. But ultimately, we can schedule at a time that works best for your vision and location!
Can we include props or personal elements in our photos?
Absolutely! Whether it’s a pet, a vintage car, a champagne toast, or even a paddle boat like Sam and Max had, personal touches make your session even more unique.
Do you travel for engagement sessions?
Yes! While I’m based in Northern Michigan and frequently photograph in Traverse City, I love exploring new locations. If you have a dream spot in mind, let’s chat about making it happen!
How do we book an engagement session with you?
