I’m probably drinking a Diet Coke, watching a reality TV show while editing and hanging out with my family. Which is truly some of my favorite things. I’m married to the LOML, Adam. And we have two sweet boys, Noah & Nash! One black lab named Ozzy, and one kitten named Perry too.
If you would’ve told me in high school that I would have the business that I do today I would have been shocked. I always thought that someday I would be a business owner, but it looked a bit different.
I grew up in and around the gym that my dad owned. As I got older, I thought that maybe someday I would do the same. I do love it, but it was not the path I was meant to take and I quickly learned that.
When I was a little girl, my mom used to take pictures of me on her film camera as she went through school for photography. My mom was always on the artsy side like I am. For as long as I can remember, I loved taking pictures. And not just taking pictures but displaying them anywhere I could. When I was young, I had them all over the walls of my room and once I had a car, I had them pinned all over the fabric on the inside roof of my 2005 Ford Taurus.
I started my business four years ago and it quickly took off. By year two I had a fully booked year of weddings. I am so grateful to have met and photographed all of the couples that I have. I’ve now been lucky enough to follow along with their lives and photograph their families as they grow.
Along my business journey, I’ve realized that photography for me is much more than pretty photos. For me, it’s all about the relationships I’ve made along the way. And truly helping in any way that I can. Alongside being a momma and a wife, photography has also given me so much happiness and purpose in life. I believe I was given this gift for much more than beautiful photos! Keep scrolling to get to know more about me and my family.
I knew of Adam for years before we ever met. Funny story, living in a small town I knew of my husband for years before we actually met. In 2018, we matched on Tinder (of all the things, but I LOVE our love story), and our relationship QUICKLY developed. In fact, we were engaged 4 months later! And married in 2020!
Then we had our first son, Noah, in 2019. After enduring gestational diabetes and an emergency c-section, our sweet Noah was born with a full head of hair!
Married in 2020(after multiple postponements, one being Covid) with our one year old Noah by our side! I love our story and knowing that Noah was in our wedding and included in our photos!
Then in 2021, we had our second son Nash! Once again I had gestational diabetes. But this time around I also had a rare complication called Intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy, or ICP for short. So we once again arrived at the OR for a c-section, but this time a month early. Nevertheless, Nash was born a whopping 7.2 lbs at 36 weeks and was our healthy beautiful boy!
Then came Ozzy. He truly is the pup that we’ve wanted for years. Growing up, I had a Black Lab named Buddy that was always the same age as me so essentially, we grew up together. I loved it and knew someday that I would love to have another that my own kiddos could love on.
And last (for now) but not least, Periscope! Named by Noah, and we call her Perry for short! Lots of spunky personality in our princess Perry!
Then in 2020, I left my full time job and launched Leah Rohde Photography! I purchased my first professional camera from my own wedding photographer and got started learning everything that I could. I’m so grateful my business quickly took off and since then I’ve photographed & learned the stories of hundreds of couples and families! It’s truly a charmed life!
