A Natural Connection from the Start
There are just some couples you instantly click with, and Nicole and Austin are absolutely one of those couples. From the very beginning, their energy felt easy, joyful, and genuine. Their Sleeping Bear Dunes engagement session was one of those experiences that reminds me why I love what I do.
We explored the Empire Bluff area within Sleeping Bear Dunes, and from the overlook to the glowing Lake Michigan views, everything about this location felt peaceful and meaningful. The quiet hike, the open views, and the fresh air made it feel like a true experience rather than just a photo session. I’m so glad they made the trip from their sweet hometown of Hillman, Michigan, because it turned into one of the most fun and memorable sessions.
Bringing Their Whole Story Along
We were joined by ShaeMarie Photography for some content creation, and the four of us had such a great time together. Of course, we can’t forget Lapua. Nicole and Austin’s adorable pup came along for the adventure and completely stole the show. He was fluffy, sweet, incredibly patient, and such a good listener the entire time, which honestly made the session even more special.
Everything about this session felt joyful and relaxed. Nicole and Austin trusted the process completely and were up for anything, from running barefoot along the trail to spinning and laughing together without a care in the world. Their connection is effortless, and you can feel how much fun they genuinely have together.
A Love Story Full of Heart
During the session, I got to hear more about their story, and I was instantly hooked. Nicole and Austin have been together for eight years, since high school, which alone is enough to melt your heart. Somewhere along the way, Austin surprised Nicole with a baby pig. Yes, a baby pig. And the best part is that they still have him.
Their relationship is full of those sweet, sentimental details that make their story feel so personal and real. It’s clear how deeply they care for each other, and photographing that kind of connection is always such an honor.
Looking Ahead to Their Wedding Day
I truly can’t wait for their wedding day this October. Getting to spend time with them again, celebrate their next chapter, and document everything they’ve built together feels so special. I already know it’s going to be a day full of love, laughter, and meaningful moments.
