A Wedding Day Full of Joy and Heart
If I’m being honest, this day was everything. Wyatt and Alicia’s Blue Sky Barn wedding was filled with laughter, love, a few unexpected surprises, and so much heart. I’m still smiling thinking about it all.
The morning started with a wild thunderstorm, and we were all watching the radar like hawks, wondering what the day would bring. By some miracle, the skies cleared and the sun came out, giving us the most beautiful day. I’m officially a believer that rain on your wedding day really is good luck.
A Meaningful Start to the Day
When I arrived at Blue Sky Barn, the guest house where Alicia got ready felt warm and welcoming. Her dress was hanging beautifully, ready to be photographed, and the room was filled with joy and anticipation. Polaroids were scattered throughout the space, documenting the weekend as it unfolded. That detail felt so true to Alicia. Sentimental, creative, and full of heart.
One of the most emotional moments of the morning was when Alicia’s mom helped her into her dress. Her bridesmaids teared up, and I absolutely did too, quietly behind the camera. It was one of those moments where everything pauses, the kind you know will be remembered forever.
And of course, Timber made his appearance. Their sweet pup was part of so many moments throughout the day, and I loved how naturally he was included in such an important celebration.
A Fun and Personal Celebration
Before the ceremony, we set aside time for wedding party photos, and this group brought the energy. Everyone was excited, laughing, and fully ready to celebrate Wyatt and Alicia. Taking these photos earlier in the day allowed them more freedom later to relax and enjoy their guests, which always makes such a difference.
One of my favorite planned moments was when Alicia shotgunned a beer with Wyatt. It was right there on the timeline and felt perfectly “them.” Laid-back, playful, and ready to kick off the celebration.
A First Look and Heartfelt Ceremony
Their first look was incredibly sweet. Wyatt cried, Alicia cried, and they shared such a genuine, grounding moment together. I love first looks for this reason. They create space to breathe, connect, and simply be together before the day unfolds.
The ceremony took place under sunny skies, officiated by Wyatt’s aunt, which made it deeply personal. Every word felt intentional and meaningful. Watching them say their vows and share their first kiss surrounded by their loved ones was such a joyful moment.
Sunset Moments and an Unforgettable Night
The celebration continued into the reception, and the energy never slowed. Wyatt and Alicia made their grand entrance holding Timber, which had everyone cheering. Later in the evening, Alicia sprayed Wyatt with champagne, one of those spontaneous moments that brought the biggest smiles.
We stepped away for sunset portraits, and even with cloudy skies, the light was soft and beautiful. That’s when we tried something a little unexpected. Back at the guest house, there was a vintage clawfoot tub, and I asked if they’d trust me with a fun idea. They said yes without hesitation.
Champagne, flash photos, and a whole lot of laughter followed. Those images are some of my favorites from the day. They’re playful, personal, and full of personality. Exactly the kind of moments couples love looking back on years later.
The night ended with a packed dance floor, Fireball shots, and a very enthusiastic round of “Thunderstruck.” Everyone was laughing, dancing, and celebrating, and it was impossible not to feel how loved Wyatt and Alicia are.
This wedding day was full of joy, emotion, and connection, and I’m so grateful I got to document it all. Wyatt and Alicia, thank you for trusting me every step of the way. From your engagement session to this unforgettable wedding day, it’s been such a joy getting to know you both.
