Patrick & Christy’s Northern Michigan Winter Wedding at Greystone Weddings
Winter weddings in Northern Michigan have a kind of magic that feels calm, intentional, and quietly beautiful. Patrick and Christy’s winter wedding at Greystone Weddings near Traverse City was a perfect reflection of that.
Leading up to their day, Northern Michigan delivered plenty of snow — including two back-to-back snow days for my kids. However, on the morning of their wedding, the clouds cleared and the sun appeared. What followed was one of those rare winter days that feels bright, peaceful, and just right.
A Warm, Joyful Start to the Day
I spent the morning with Christy, her closest friends, and both her and Patrick’s moms. From the start, the room felt welcoming and full of excitement. Everyone was relaxed, present, and genuinely happy to be there together.
When Christy handed me her wedding details, I immediately fell in love. Her pearl accents and elegant bridal shoes felt timeless and refined — the perfect complement to a winter wedding day. Those thoughtful details set the tone for everything that followed.
A Ceremony Filled With History and Meaning
Patrick and Christy exchanged vows inside the Chapel at Greystone, and the space was truly breathtaking. One detail that stood out immediately was the chapel’s historic glass windows.
The owner shared that the windows were hand-blown in the 1800s, which added such depth and character to the ceremony space. Knowing that history made the moment feel even more meaningful, especially as winter light filtered softly through the glass.
Celebrating a Northern Michigan Winter Wedding
As the day continued, Patrick and Christy were surrounded by family and friends who clearly adore them. The celebration felt warm and genuine — filled with laughter, connection, and so much joy.
Winter weddings often bring people closer together, and that feeling was present all day. From quiet moments to joyful conversations, everything about their celebration felt intimate and heartfelt.
