Madison & Jaxon’s Timeless Mill Pond Event Center Wedding

7/28/2026

As a Mill Pond Event Center wedding photographer, getting to document Madison and Jaxon’s wedding was such a special experience, and it’s one I’ll remember for a long time.

Some weddings are beautiful because of the details. Some are beautiful because of the people. Madison and Jaxon’s wedding somehow managed to be both.

A couple of years ago, I photographed Jaxon’s brother, Jakob, and Margaret’s wedding (you can see their wedding day here). Then this spring, I had the honor of photographing Madison and Jaxon. And now this September, I’ll be photographing Madison’s best friend, Allison, as she marries Cole. Getting to celebrate alongside the same families and friends over the years is one of my favorite parts of this job.

If you’re looking for a Mill Pond Event Center wedding photographer, I hope this gives you a little glimpse into what a wedding day here can look like.

From the moment I arrived, I could tell this day was going to be something special.

A Bride Who Thought of Every Detail

Madison is one of those people who is simply wonderful to work with.

She’s incredibly organized, and I mean that in the best way possible. She had everything ready when I arrived, and we even spent a few minutes going through her vision for her detail photographs together. We looked through each piece she had set aside, talked through what mattered most to her, and created a plan before we started photographing everything.

I loved that she cared so much about creating a beautiful experience for everyone around her, but once the day finally arrived, she simply soaked it all in. I think that’s one of my favorite combinations. A couple who puts so much heart into planning, then gives themselves permission to truly enjoy every moment once it’s here.

As a wedding photographer, I absolutely love when couples care about the little details while also trusting the creative process. It gives us the opportunity to create photographs that feel intentional while still feeling completely natural.

Her details were timeless from beginning to end. The black, white, and soft green color palette will never go out of style, and paired with the stunning florals from Sunday Morning Flowers, everything photographed beautifully.

Sunday Morning Flowers Created Some of My Favorite Florals

I always get excited when I see Sunday Morning Flowers on a wedding day.

Not only is Leah such a wonderful person, but her bouquets are consistently some of my favorites to photograph. They’re full, elegant, and photograph beautifully from every angle.

The florals fit Madison’s vision perfectly and tied every part of the day together so effortlessly.

A Wedding Focused on What Mattered Most

One of the things I loved most about Madison and Jaxon is that while they put so much thought into planning every detail, once the wedding day arrived, they simply wanted to enjoy it.

They weren’t worried about making everything perfect.

They wanted to soak in every moment together.

You could feel how much they love one another from the first look all the way through the last dance.

Their private vows were incredibly emotional. Both of them cried as they read to one another, and knowing how long they’ve been together made those moments even more meaningful.

I’ve followed along with their journey since photographing their engagement session, and I even found myself looking back through some of their older photos together before their wedding day. Watching people grow together and finally reach this chapter of life always feels incredibly special.

An Engagement Session They’ll Cherish Forever

Their engagement session is still one of my favorites.

One of the locations we chose was the property where they’re building their future home together.

I love that years from now, they’ll be able to hang those engagement photographs inside the very home that was only a dream when we took them.

They even brought their dogs along for their engagement session, and it only felt fitting that their pups were part of their wedding day, too. Seeing them included during the grand entrance was such a fun and personal touch.

The Sweetest Wedding Party

Madison’s bridesmaids were amazing.

You could tell how deeply they cared about her, and seeing their reactions during the first reveal was one of my favorite moments of the morning. Everyone was supportive, excited, and completely present throughout the day.

The same could be said for Jaxon’s groomsmen.

From start to finish, everyone made the day feel relaxed, joyful, and full of laughter.

Photographing a Spring Wedding at Mill Pond Event Center

Michigan weather always keeps us guessing, but this day turned out absolutely beautiful.

The temperatures were perfect, the spring greenery had started filling in, and everything around Mill Pond Event Center looked so fresh and vibrant.

It gave us the perfect opportunity to spend plenty of time outside creating portraits while still allowing Madison and Jaxon to enjoy cocktail hour with the people they love.

We even photographed a few portraits on film, which was such a fun addition to the day.

One of the Most Fun Dance Floors

Once the reception started, the party didn’t slow down.

Their guests completely packed the dance floor all night long. There were moments when it was honestly hard to move through the crowd because everyone was out there celebrating together.

Northern Beat Entertainment kept the energy high from beginning to end, and Tony did such a fantastic job reading the room and keeping everyone involved.

Those are always my favorite kinds of receptions to photograph.

A Cake Bar Everyone Loved

One of the most unique parts of the reception was the cake bar.

Along with their traditional wedding cake, guests could choose their own slice of cake and customize it with different frostings and toppings.

It was such a fun idea, and definitely one I’ll remember.

One More Unforgettable Day

By the end of the night, I found myself surrounded by familiar faces once again.

Seeing so many people from Jakob and Margaret’s Wedding Day made the day feel even more meaningful, and getting one last photo with Madison and Jaxon before heading home was the perfect way to end such an incredible celebration.

Madison and Jaxon, thank you for trusting me with these memories. It was truly such an honor getting to celebrate with you both, and I couldn’t be happier for you as you begin this next chapter together.

I know your future home will be filled with just as much love as your wedding day was.
