I had been looking forward to Margaret & Jakob’s wedding day ever since her very first email to me! We took their Northern Michigan engagement photos in the fall of 2023, and we had so much fun capturing their portraits. After that session, I knew their wedding was going to be something special.
On their wedding day in Kalkaska, Michigan, I arrived to a full house filled with Margaret’s family and friends. Everyone was so sweet and welcoming, and you could feel the love and excitement in the air. Margaret was just as excited as I was about detail photos—she had thought of everything and had it all beautifully prepared for me! Her sentimental touches were absolutely stunning. And when I saw her classic, elegant wedding dress? Absolutely breathtaking! One of my favorite moments was when Margaret’s mom helped her into her dress, tears of joy in her eyes—such a heartfelt moment I felt lucky to capture.
Their Catholic wedding ceremony at St. Mary of the Woods Church in Kalkaska, MI was absolutely beautiful. Almost every pew was filled, and you could truly feel how deeply loved these two are. The way Jakob looked at Margaret as she walked down the aisle? Not even funny—you could see how much they love each other.
After the ceremony, we spent some time capturing wedding portraits before heading to their reception at The Mill Pond Event Center in Kalkaska, Michigan. This venue holds a very special place in my heart—I got married here in 2020! Every time I return, it feels so meaningful, especially when I get to photograph an incredible couple like Margaret & Jakob.
Their wedding reception at The Mill Pond Event Center was nothing short of amazing! Their family and friends came together to celebrate their love, and the energy in the room was incredible. The dance floor was packed all night—and you know I had to get out there with them! Weddings like this are one of my favorite things—I love capturing all the joy, the laughter, and the unforgettable moments.
