Bayview Weddings at Gallagher Farms in Traverse City: The Perfect Northern Michigan Wedding Venue
Bayview offers couples an incredible variety of spaces all in one place:
- Scenic Overlook Ceremony Space – Say your vows on top of the hill with panoramic views of Grand Traverse Bay. The overlook features a modern glass railing so the view stays wide open.
- Orchards & Vineyard – Apple and cherry trees create a romantic backdrop in every season, while vineyard rows glow at sunset.
- Bridal Barn – Covered in ivy and filled with chandeliers, cozy furniture, and florals, this space feels like it’s straight out of a magazine. A private tree-lined pathway makes it perfect for first looks.

Delaney & AJ’s Bayview Wedding Day
From the moment I met Delaney and AJ (and their sweet pup, Samson 🐾) at their Sleeping Bear Dunes engagement session, I knew their wedding day would be full of heart. They even brought champagne—and a glass for me!—because that’s just the kind of thoughtful, joyful couple they are.
On their wedding day, every detail carried meaning. Delaney wore her grandmother’s ring and a gorgeous gown from Jenna in White. Her custom veil was lovingly made by a family guest, and her eight bridesmaids helped her into her dress inside the ivy-covered bridal barn. AJ and the guys relaxed at the groom’s cabin with Samson by their side.
The ceremony at the overlook was pure Northern Michigan magic. Samson, in his bow tie, proudly walked down the aisle as the ring bearer before watching his parents say “I do” with Grand Traverse Bay stretching behind them.
After their heartfelt vows, we wandered through the orchard and vineyard rows for portraits. This is when Delaney and AJ shared a secret just for them—they brought their baby’s ultrasound. At 18 weeks pregnant, no one else knew yet. We tucked into the vineyard, capturing the sweetest photos with their ultrasound, knowing they’d use them later to announce their growing family. It was one of my favorite moments of the day because it represented so much love, hope, and the start of a new chapter.
The celebration carried on with lawn games, laughter around the fire pits, and dancing under the glowing white tent. Every embrace, toast, and smile showed how deeply loved Delaney and AJ are.

Planning Tips for Bayview Weddings at Gallagher Farms
As a Traverse City wedding photographer who’s photographed here, I’ve learned a few tips to help couples get the most out of Bayview:
- Shuttle Timing: Build in 10–15 extra minutes for guests to arrive at the overlook ceremony. The views are worth it, but golf cart/shuttle rides can add a few minutes.
- Golden Hour Portraits: The vineyard rows are absolutely dreamy at sunset—plan a quick slip-away for photos then.
- Veil-Friendly Wind: The overlook is elevated, which can mean wind. If you’re wearing a veil, secure it tightly or embrace those windswept, dramatic photos.
- Rain Plan: The reception tent doubles as a backup ceremony location, and it still feels magical.
- Family Photos: The orchard or barn pathway are perfect shaded spots for timeless family groupings.
