I’m also a 5-foot-tall, goal-oriented empath with a love for details. 90’s baby, reality TV lover and ambivert. I know what it feels like to marry your favorite person—the love, the joy, and the moments you never want to forget. And as a mom of two, I know how quickly life moves—the way newborn snuggles turn into toddler giggles in the blink of an eye. Those little details? They matter, and I want to help you hold onto them. That’s why I do what I do—not just to take photos, but to preserve the moments that matter most.

I’m a wife, mom of two, photographer, and educator.

The heart behind it all

I grew up watching my dad turn his passion into a business, running his gym with heart and truly making a difference in people’s lives. That stuck with me. I knew I wanted to do something just as meaningful—something that combined passion, purpose, and the ability to serve others.

For me, photography is about more than just preserving moments—it’s about connection.

When I was young, she went to school for photography and would take photos of me with her film camera. I admired it, and that love only deepened when I became a mom myself. I realized just how fleeting time is and how important it is to document every little detail—the real, authentic moments that make up your life.

My love for photography started with my mom.

I’m proud to now serve couples and families as a Traverse City photographer, capturing love stories and everyday moments across Northern Michigan. As much as I love creating timeless images, what truly drives me is the people I get to serve. Whether it’s celebrating a couple’s wedding day, capturing the sweet chaos of family life, or mentoring other photographers as they build a business they love, I pour my heart into every moment.

So, I took a leap of faith, and Leah Rohde Photography was born.

Every moment I capture, every relationship I build, is done with care, and passion. I want my clients to not only love their photos but to remember how they felt in those moments—because that’s what lasts forever.

I run my business the way my dad once did—with heart.

This isn’t just my job—it’s a passion rooted in my own experiences. As a wife, I understand the weight of these moments, the joy of connection, and the beauty of starting a life together. I’m here to be more than a photographer—to celebrate with you, cheer you on, and capture the story of your love in the most meaningful way possible.

More than anything, I want my kids to see me doing work I love. My hope is that it inspires them to chase their own dreams and create a life that brings them joy. This business isn’t just about photography; it’s about building a life of purpose, connection, and love—and leaving that impact on my family and the people I serve.

A Life of Passion

My passion also includes helping other photographers chase their dreams. Sharing tips and everything I’ve learned brings me so much joy because I want others to create a business they’re passionate about and live it every day. Seeing someone turn their creativity into a career they love is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

Meet my family

We knew of each other for years before we met. It all started with Tinder and a date. We both knew right away that what we had was something special. Just four months later, we were engaged.

Adam

Our five-year-old is endlessly curious, always wanting to know how everything works and how it’s made. He’s our little engineer and the sweetest boy you’ll ever meet.

Noah

Our three-year-old loves to play pretend and is already an impressive little artist. Momma obsessed.

Nash

The pup we’ve been dreaming of for years. Growing up, I had a Black Lab named Buddy who was the same age as me, so we essentially grew up together. I loved that bond and always knew I’d want another dog someday—one my own kids could love just as much.

Noah named her Periscope, but we call her Perry for short. She’s full of spunky personality—our little princess Perry.

Our newest addition is a Boston Terrier-Pug mix—also known as a "Bug." We all fell in love with him instantly.

"The experience was one I will never forget. Leah went above and beyond from the moment we reached out to her to book our date."

As a Traverse City photographer, I’m lucky to spend my days capturing love and family in some of the most meaningful places—by the lake, in the backyard where your babies take their first steps, and beyond. More than just creating beautiful images, I want this to feel effortless and real, so when you look back, you don’t just see the moment—you feel it all over again.
