Some engagement sessions feel easy from the very beginning, and AJ and Delaney’s was exactly that. Their Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive engagement photos were filled with laughter, warmth, and a quiet kind of joy that comes from being completely comfortable together.
From the moment we met up in Empire, Michigan, I knew this session would be something special.
Starting Their Engagement Session in Sleeping Bear Dunes
We began their session at Sleeping Bear Point Trail, one of my favorite locations for its sandy paths, soft light, and peaceful atmosphere. Right away, AJ and Delaney settled into the experience. They were playful, relaxed, and fully present with one another.
Because of that, nothing felt forced. Instead, the evening unfolded naturally as they explored the trail and enjoyed being together. That kind of energy always leads to photos that feel timeless and real.
Why Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive Is So Special
As the sun began to dip, we made our way up to Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive for sunset. This location is iconic for a reason. The sweeping Lake Michigan views, dramatic dune overlooks, and golden-hour light create one of the most breathtaking backdrops in Northern Michigan.
Every time I photograph engagement photos here, it feels special. That evening was no exception. The light softened, the views stretched endlessly, and AJ and Delaney fit effortlessly into the landscape around them.
A Champagne Toast at Sunset
One of my favorite moments from their session happened at the very end. As the sun dropped lower, AJ and Delaney popped champagne to celebrate. They even poured me a glass, which felt incredibly thoughtful.
Moments like that are small but meaningful. They’re also the moments couples tend to remember most. Those in-between celebrations often become some of the most loved images from a session.
A Session That Truly Felt Like Them
AJ and Delaney trusted the process and leaned into the experience. Because of that, their connection came through so naturally. Their joy felt genuine, relaxed, and completely true to who they are.
